「白い家、青い窓枠、美しい少女」
ある月明かりの夜、夕食を済ませた私はリビングに向かう途中にふと金木犀の香りを感じた
近所のどこかに植えられた金木犀の木に花が咲き、その香りが風に乗ってやって来たのか
私は食後の腹ごなしも兼ねて、香りに誘われるがまま散歩に出かけた
いつも通る道沿いに金木犀は植えられていない
「今夜は普段通らない路地を歩いてみるか」
近所とはいえ見慣れない風景が続くと、新しい土地に越して来たかのような気がして来るから面白い
少し歩くと、「あった、あそこだ」
ある白い家の庭に金木犀が数本植えられていた
月明かりに照らされた花が可憐で愛おしい
芳醇な秋の香りを堪能していると、ふと人の気配を感じた
周りを見回したが誰もいない
恐る恐る上を見上げると、2階の窓から誰かが外を見ていた
女の子だ
とても美しい
白い家、青い窓枠、美しい少女
そして金木犀の花
月明かりの照明が彼女達を照らし、まるで1枚の絵画のようだ
私はあまりの美しさに息を呑んだ
声をかけたいが私は生来声が出せない
そうこうしていると彼女と目が合ってしまった
思わず笑顔を作ってしまったが、彼女に不審に思われていないと良いが…
A White House, a Blue Window Frame, a Beautiful Girl
One night with bright full moon, after having dinner, I caught a scent of fragrant olive coming from the half open window on the way to go to the living room.
Some fragrant trees planted in the neighborhood must have borne flowers, and the scent came drifting in the wind.
Attracted by the scent, I went out to see where it was coming from, thought it’s a good idea to take a walk since I ate too much.
Anyway, fragrant trees were not planted near here where I usually pass by.
“Maybe I should take a path I haven’t landed on yet”
It’s still your neighborhood, but if you see a succession of unfamiliar scenery, it feels like you are new there.
It’s interesting, isn’t it?
After walking a bit, “Found it! There it is!”
Some fragrant trees were in full bloom in the front yard of a white house.
Those tiny flowers lit up by the moonlight were so pretty and adorable.
I was enjoying the luxurious scent of fall, when I sensed someone’s presence nearby.
But I couldn’t see anyone around.
So, I looked up with some apprehension, and then someone was watching outside through the upstairs window.
t was a girl.
Very beautiful one.
A white house, a blue window frame, a beautiful girl, and flowering fragrant trees.
Illuminated by the moonlight, they looked like an artistic painting.
I gasped at the excess of the beauty in front of me.
I wish I could have said “good evening” to her, but I was born mute.
Maybe I stayed too long, my eyes met hers at last.
And I was smiling at her before I knew it.
Hope she didn’t think I was a pervert or something…
