「月明りの夜、満天の星、優しい笑顔」
いつからだろう
空が青く澄み渡って見えるようになったのは
いつからだろう
庭に咲く金木犀の花の香りが好きになったのは
それは特別な日ではなかった
私はその日もいつも通り退屈で平凡な時間を過ごしていた
空はいつも通り淀んだ灰色で、小鳥の歌声は耳障りで、窓を開ければ金木犀の香りが鼻に付いた
早く終われば良いのに、人生は長く、残酷だ
私の唯一の楽しみは食後に夜空を見上げ星を数える事だけ
「私もいつかあの星のひとつになれるのだろうか」
そんな事を考えながらふと、庭の金木犀に目をやると
「誰かいる」
1人の青年がこちらを見上げていた
私が不審に思うよりも先に彼がその顔に照れたような優しい笑顔を浮かべた
彼は直ぐに立ち去ってしまったが、気づいたら私も彼の背中を見つめながら笑顔になっていた
A Moonlight Night, a Lot of Stars, a Heartwarming Smile
Wonder, since when the sky started looking clear and blue.
Wonder, since when I started liking the scent of fragrant olive in my yard.
It wasn’t a special day.
I was just spending my boring, mediocre day as usual.
The sky was dull and gray, the chirping of birds was irritating, and when I opened the window, the smell of fragrant olive was just annoying as usual.
No matter how much you wish it would end soon, still your life is yet to go on.
So cruel.
The only, little pleasure of my life is counting the stars after dinner.
“Wonder if I could be one of those stars someday”
I was thinking like that, when I vaguely looked down at the front yard to find someone staring at me.
It was a young man looking up at me.
He put kind of an embarrassed, gentle and heartwarming smile on his face before I could feel suspicious of his behavior.
He walked away immediately, but when I realized, I was smiling just like the way he did while looking at his back leaving.
